O’Malley Proposes Budget Cuts

     With just about two weeks left in office, Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley still has plans for the economy.
     In order to eliminate this year’s revenue shortfall of more than $400 million, the outgoing governor says he plans to propose $211 million in cuts to the Board of Public Works
     O’Malley says he will propose the cuts in a meeting tomorrow.
     The vote goes to the Board of Public Works which consists of the governor, Comptroller Peter Franchot and Treasurer Nancy Kopp. The vote goes to the 2-1 majority.
     O’Malley will apparently address his plans for the rest of the of the shortfall, which comes to almost another $200 million, to the General Assembly when it convenes next week.
