Police Investigate Midnight Robbery at Dover Residence

DOVER, Del. – Authorities are investigating a robbery that occurred early Friday morning at a Dover residence. 

At 12:26 a.m. on Aug. 28, officers with the Dover Police Department responded to the area of South Governors Avenue and West Reed Street for a reported robbery. A female victim reported to police that an unknown male suspect approached her and demanded her property while she was sitting on a porch. The suspect reportedly struck her in the face and threatened to use a weapon, but did not appear to produce one. 

The suspect proceeded to steal the victim’s property before fleeing the scene in her vehicle. Officers later located the unoccupied vehicle in the area of Clara Street and North Bradford Street. Police say the vehicle was recovered and is being processed as part of the investigation.
