House fire in Caroline County under investigation
Caroline County, Md. – The Fire Marshal’s office is investigating a house fire that displaced three.
On May 1, around 2 p.m. Ridgely Volunteer Fire Department responded to a single-story home because of a fire, after it was reported by an occupant. Originating from the exterior of the attached garage, the fire caused significant damage to the structure and occupants were forced to vacate the property. Forty three firefighters arrived to the scene and were able to control the fire after 45 minutes. Fire Marshal’s office say that that smoke alarms were present in the home and activated, with additional alarms provided to the occupants.
The total damage of the structure and it’s contents is valued at $80,000. No injuries or deaths were reported and the occupants of the home are receiving assistance through the American Red Cross.
