Dole Whip vendor sees big sales as temps run hot at Delaware State Fair

Cold Treats To Beat The Heat

HARRINGTON, Del. – The weather is always hot at the Delaware State Fair, but for some vendors that heat and humidity is actually a big boost for their businesses.

For folks like Tropical Delight, the weather sends lines of hungry customers their way, looking to get a chance to try their dole-whip creations.

The stand says it’s one of the few plant-based and vegan dessert options available at the fair and can act as a great way to stay cool.

Tropical Delights is returning to the fair after making its debut last year and winning the best overall exhibit to boot.

Their owner Reggie Burnett says they have some new flavors and items cooked up to make this year even better.

“You can get a smoothie and a dole whip together and I like that pina colada with the pineapple dole whip on top,  man you talking about good, that is great, and you can actually get in a pineapple as well, or a martini cup,” Burnett said adding they have Rasberry Dole-Whip flavor this year along with the original pineapple.

He tells us he knew the frozen desert would be a hit, but was not ready for the level of appreciation and support they have received from fairgoers, and encourages people to try the desert out if they stop by the stand.
