Maryland high school evacuated after bomb threat; investigation ongoing

Officials say a Maryland high school was evacuated Tuesday afternoon when a threatening message was discovered at the school's main campus.
According to the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's office, the Kent Island High School's school resource officer was notified of a bomb threat discovered in the girl's bathroom around 10:00 AM. Officials say at 11:00 AM, the school was in "shelter in place" status. By 12:00 PM, the school had been evacuated.
The evacuation was in conjunction with the Sheriff's office and necessary for officials to successfully complete a K-9 sweep of the building.
The scan of the building was complete shortly before 2:00 PM, and students and staff were returned to the school to resume normal operations.
No arrests have been made in connection to the threat.
