Polytech Panthers defeat Early College in Week 1

WOODSIDE, Del. – Thursday night high school football action under the lights.

Friday Night Lights is upon us, but we get started with the madness early. The PolyTech Panthers are hosting Early College for the first game of the season.

Early in the game, the Hornets went for it on 4th down on their own side of the field. They tried to get slick with the handoff sweep; that didn’t work. Panthers sniffed that one out.

After the change of possession, Haleem Edwards finds Stennis Johnson on the quick screen, and he does the rest, and made it look easy. At this point of the game. It was 17 to 0. Panthers are very dominant.

The hornets not giving up though Edwards with a quick pass trying to move the chains and keep the offense productive. But a big hit by the Hornet defender and Ronald Cottrell, the sophomore, gets the recovery.

He was at the right place, at the right time. His teammates celebrating with the the young rising star.

Later in the game, Haleem Edwards with a senior-level throw. William Brown comes down with it, touchdown Panthers.

Panthers roll in this game winning 45 to 6.
