Worcester Prep Falls In Governors Challenge Opener

The Worchester Prep Fighting Mallards started off the Governors Challenge Basketball Tournament on Saturday morning taking on Kings Christian.The Eagles jumped out to an early lead taking a 15-10 lead after the first quarter of play and continued to hold onto the lead at half, 28-20. Kings Academy continued to push on throughout the third quarter, but there was a momentum change in the fourth quarter.The Fighting Mallards stayed true to their name and after trailing, 41-27 heading into the fourth quarter, Worcester Prep pushed their way back into the game. Between Patrick Petrera, Tucker Brown, and Sam Cantello - the Mallards got back within 2 points, but Kings Christian closed out the game and sealed the win after Hestro Johnson knocked down two free-throws, 47-43 the final.

Parkside Drops First Game In Salisbury

The Parkside Rams have been undefeated throughout the season in the Bayside, but Theodore Roosevelt came to town on Saturday for the Governor's Challenge and stirred things up in Salisbury.The game was very even throughout the first quarter, but Roosevelt took a 2 point lead in the first quarter - and extended that lead to 7 points heading into the locker rooms at halftime, 39-32. However, coming back from half, the Warriors put on a show scoring 26 points in the third quarter alone and held the Rams to just 7 points to make it a 60-39 game heading into the 4th quarter. The Rough Riders continued to push on throughout the 4th to hold onto the lead and notch the win, 76-50 over Parkside.

Parkside Girls Roll St. Michaels

The Parkside girls basketball team picked up yet another win tonight with a 71-14 win over St. Michaels. The win improves the Rams to 5-1, while the loss drops the Saints to. 0-6.

Snow Hill Girls Survive Scare Late vs. Bennett

The Snow Hill girls basketball team picked up a big conference win Tuesday when they edged Bennett 45-44. The win improves the Eagles to 2-4, while the loss drops the Clippers to 2-4.

The Parkside boys basketball team stayed perfect on the year on Tuesday night when they defeated St. Michaels 87-14. The win improves the Rams to 6-0, while the loss drops the Saints to 0-6.

The Washington boys basketball team collected a bounce back win Tuesday night when they defeated Mardela 77-29. The win improves the Jaguars to 4-2, while the loss drops the Warriors to 0-6.

The Snow Hill boys basketball team earned another conference win Tuesday night when they defeated Bennett 78-50. The win improves the Eagles to 4-2, while the loss drops the Clippers to 0-6.

The Pokomoke Warriors hosted the Stephen Decatur Seahawks or the biggest game in the Bayside so far this 2015-2016 season. Both the Warriors and the Seahawks were undefeated heading into Monday nights big game before Christmas break starts on Tuesday.

Devin Martin's Career Night Pushes Hawks Past Central Penn

The UMES men's basketball team took the hardwood on Tuesday night looking to string together consecutive wins for the first time this season while taking on Central Penn. The Hawks defeated American University on Sunday night with Devin Martin leading the way with a career-high 36 points, and on Tuesday night, Martin was in the mood for another career night.
