Jinny Coxe is the Acts Manor House Fitness Champion at 100-years-old
SEAFORD, Del. – A special ceremony at the Acts Manor House celebrates a woman who has made a lifelong commitment to wellness. Her name is Virginia Coxe, but her family and friends call her Jinny Coxe.
The 100-year-old woman is in excellent shape, rivaling even the fittest. I asked if she thought she could win a race against me. No, she said, and though she’s humble, she’s found the secret to healthy aging.
She explained that her success stems from prioritizing her health and maintaining an active lifestyle, rather than a complex reason. Seaford’s Acts Manor House offers a wide range of services.
“Doing puzzles and playing cards. And then some active, we have a fitness center now, and some exercise classes.”
The Acts Manor recognized Thursday afternoon Jinny as the fitness champion. Jinny is consistent in her daily routine. She plays tennis, spends time outdoors, and works out at Manor House three times per week.
“I think it is very important, if I miss classes too often, you know a couple in a row, I can feel a difference in stiffness.”
Jinny moved to Manor House 19 years ago and has made a lasting impression. During the ceremony, the audience did a squat in her honor.
Happy birthday Jinny! We love you!
