Dover man arrested in connection with two June shootings
DOVER, Del. – Dover Police have made an arrest in a June 24th shooting incident in Bicentennial Village. Police say they were able to connect 20-year-old Kyle Robinson to the shooting with evidence they found in the investigation. Robinson was also charged in a June 21st shooting on Frear Drive, and was arrested after a vehicle pursuit on June 28th.
Police say on the afternoon of June 24th, officers were called to the intersection of Bicentennial Boulevard and Declaration Drive for a report of shots fired. Investigators were able to figure out that a Chevrolet Trailblazer pulled in front of a GMC Terrain at the intersection. That’s when police say a subject in the GMC fired multiple shots at the Chevrolet and sped off.
Officers later found the Trailblazer in a nearby neighborhood with multiple bullet holes. Police say they contacted the owner, who was uncooperative with police. The owner did tell police that an argument had happened at The Hamlet Shopping Center in the are of Walker Road and McKee Road before the shooting. Detectives confirmed that both vehicles were in the shopping center using video surveillance. However, police say they couldn’t tell if an altercation had happened.
No injuries or further damage as a result of the gunfire was reported, aside from a mailbox being in the area being hit by a fleeing vehicle.
Robinson is now being held at Sussex Correctional Institution on $100,000 cash bond. He is facing multiple charges, including three counts of 1st degree reckless endangerment, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, and 2nd degree conspiracy.
