Police: Man ejected from motorcycle as a result of Del. crash; Va. man cited

Police say a man was ejected into a roadway as a result of a motorcycle-vehicle crash that happened on Saturday afternoon, in Rehoboth Beach.

The Rehoboth Beach Police Department say officer responded to a personal injury accident involving a motorcycle and a vehicle at the intersection of King Charles Avenue and Hickman Street. Police say at 2:30 PM, 33-year-old Jack Sampson, of Rehoboth Beach, was driving a 2002 Honda motorcycle north on King Charles Avenue approaching Hickman Street. At that time, officers say 40-year-old Bradley Wright, of Sterling, VA was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer west on Hickman Street approaching the stop sign at King Charles Avenue.

According to the report, Wright failed to remain stopped at the stop sign and entered on King Charles Avenue as Sampson was passing through the intersection. Police say Wright's vehicle then hit the side of Sampson and his motorcycle throwing him into the roadway.

As a result of the crash, police report that the 33-year-old was taken to Beebe Medical Campus for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. 

Law enforcement says Wright, who was not injured during the collision, was issued a traffic citation for failing to remain stopped at a stop sign.
