Susan Stewart elected Rehoboth Beach mayor; Gossett, Saunders win commissioner seats

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. — Voters in Rehoboth Beach have elected Susan Stewart as mayor, while Patrick Gossett and Mark Saunders won seats on the city’s Board of Commissioners.

Stewart received 632 votes in Saturday’s municipal election, defeating Craig Their, who received 203 votes. Suzanne Goode received 177 votes, while William “Jake” Raak received 23.

For the two commissioner seats, Saunders led all candidates with 852 votes, followed by Gossett with 813 votes. Jeffrey Goode received 239 votes.

A total of 1,098 voters participated in the election. Of those, 624 cast ballots in person at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center, while another 474 voted by absentee or early ballot.

There were 1,586 registered voters in the 2026 municipal election.

Stewart, Gossett and Saunders are scheduled to be sworn in during the Rehoboth Beach Board of Commissioners meeting on Sept. 18.
