One Airlifted After Rollover Crash in Harrington
HARRINGTON, Del. – One person was airlifted following a rollover car crash in Harrington on Tuesday morning.
Just before 8:00 a.m. on Aug. 4, the Harrington Fire Company, Kent County Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and Delaware State Police Aviation were alerted for a rollover car crash at the intersection of South DuPont Highway and Fairground Road. Units responded and arrived to find a two-vehicle crash, with one occupant trapped inside an overturned car. An occupant in a second, upright vehicle was also injured.
Crews quickly worked to stabilize the overturned vehicle, utilizing cribbing and struts before removing the patient. Both patients were evaluated on scene by EMS; one patient was transported by ambulance with ALS interventions to a nearby medical facility, and the second patient was flown to a trauma center for further treatment.
Deputy Fire Chief Robbie Brode remained in charge for the duration of the incident.
