Three juveniles charged after trespassing in Felton

FELTON, Del. — Three juveniles are facing trespassing charges following an incident in Felton last month, according to police.

Officers with the Felton Police Department were dispatched around 8:16 a.m. on March 1 to the 300 block of West Main Street after receiving a report of trespassing.

The property owner told officers that three male individuals had entered his private property, passing multiple clearly posted “No Trespassing” signs, and were attempting to gain access to structures on the premises. When confronted, the individuals fled the area on foot.

Following an investigation, officers identified the suspects as juveniles from Viola and Felton, ranging in age from 14 to 17. Police said probable cause was established to obtain arrest warrants for all three.

Authorities said the juveniles later turned themselves in at the Felton Police Department. Each was charged with third-degree criminal trespass, a violation.

After being processed, the juveniles were released to their parents or guardians. Police said each was also issued a no-contact order with the property owner’s residence and will appear in court at a later date.

Officials emphasized that all suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
