FELTON, Del. — Two men have been arrested in connection with a criminal mischief investigation earlier this month at a Felton coin laundry, police said.

Officers with the Felton Police Department responded around 4:13 p.m. Feb. 4 to the 100 block of Jefferson Street after receiving a report of criminal mischief at Parnell’s Coin Laundry.

Police said two men entered the business and attempted to drill out the locks on change and laundry machines. Surveillance footage captured images of the suspects, who left the area before officers arrived.

Following an investigation, authorities identified the suspects as Joshua Matthew Grimes, 34, of Felton, and Michael David Gardner, 51, of Dover. Detectives obtained arrest warrants for both men.

Grimes was taken into custody Feb. 7 by the Wyoming Police Department without incident, police said. Gardner was arrested Feb. 21 by the Dover Police Department during an unrelated police matter.

Both men were charged with possession of burglar tools, second-degree conspiracy and criminal mischief under $1,000.

Grimes was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court No. 11 and released on $5,100 unsecured bond pending a future court date. Gardner was arraigned in the same court and released on $2,500 unsecured bond.

Both defendants were also issued no-contact orders prohibiting them from entering or contacting the coin laundry facility.

Police said the investigation was assisted by the Wyoming and Dover police departments. Authorities noted that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
