SALISBURY, Md. — In observance of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, TidalHealth will hold its annual Infant Loss Memorial Walk on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2025, at its Peninsula Regional campus in Salisbury. The event, organized by the hospital’s STAR (Special Treasures Are Remembered) program, will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Frank B. Hanna Main Lobby.

The STAR program provides comprehensive bereavement support to families who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, ectopic pregnancy, or infant death. The walk offers a space for reflection and remembrance, bringing together grieving families, healthcare staff, and members of the community to honor babies lost far too soon.

“This is a night of reflection and coming together to show our support,” said Erin Wiggins, RNC-OB, perinatal and infant bereavement coordinator at TidalHealth. “On behalf of the Women’s and Children’s STAR program, we promise these babies will never be forgotten. We are honored to walk this journey with our community.”

The event will be held rain or shine. Attendees will gather in the patient discharge area to the left of the main lobby, where they will be invited to create personalized keepsakes and enjoy light refreshments. The evening will conclude with a symbolic walk around the hospital campus, culminating in a visit to the newly completed STAR Memorial Garden.

The garden, a serene and permanent place of remembrance, has been made possible through the generous contributions of local community members. TidalHealth extended special thanks to Cody Collins of Shore Outdoor Living and Cody Mills of Mills & Sons Land Management for donating time and materials to help bring the garden to life.

October 15 is recognized nationally as Infant Loss Awareness Day. Events like the STAR Memorial Walk aim to raise awareness of perinatal and infant loss while offering comfort and connection to grieving families.

TidalHealth Peninsula Regional is located at 100 E. Carroll St., Salisbury, MD 21801. The walk is open to the public.
