Senator Carozza applauds 11 graduates who will work in automotive industry on Eastern Shore

SALISBURY, Md. – Recent graduates of the Pohanka and Wor-Wic Community College partnership just graduated. As part of the ‘Pohanka Pays it Forward’ program.

11 new grads completed a two-year apprenticeship and now had the credentials to be certified technicians.

The new group of skilled workers is ready to enter the local workforce.

State Senator Mary Beth Carozza attended the graduation and tells us the automotive industry is vital for the state.

“This is a really important industry that we need to make sure we have here on the shore,” said Sen. Carozza. “Now that we have trained apprenticeships coming out, with their credentials and their commitment to stay on the shore, it’s really promising for the future of the Eastern Shore.”

Carozza applauds the 11 graduates, and adds that the partnership gives the Eastern Shore room to improve its workforce and retain for future growth.
