Parkside Football Prep for Season

SALISBURY, Md. – The Parkside Rams are hard at work for training camp. The football season is getting closer, only 11 days away.

Head Coach Brendan Riley talking about the tough offseason. “Yeah, it’s a freaking grind, going all the way back, taking off until basically that first week of February.”

However, the work continued even after a brief hiatus of only a few months. Through strength conditioning, 7-on-7 games, and outings, Riley and his staff facilitated team bonding.

“7 on 7 time, we went to Towson, we went to Rutgers, so guys got the opportunity to work and build on things.”

That brotherhood will help the team become effective in close games. Riley is excited about what he has seen so far in development from returning guys like Preston Foskey, Derrick Clark, and Logan Phillips.

Coach Riley has put strong emphasis on the trenches. Those position groups will decide the teams who just average, to the teams who can be great.

“You know, the offensive line got some depth, the defensive line got some depth. I’m excited about Gavin Lake, a defensive lineman. I’m excited about Korian Smith, who is coming off injury.”

The Rams start the season at home vs Delmar, and then go on the road to battle Easton in week 2.

Week 3 will be a massive game, matching against city rival James M. Bennett.
