UPDATE: Suspect identified after OCPD officer injured
Update on July 4th, 2025: Police have identified the suspect.
OCEAN CITY, Md. – Ocean City Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a suspect who got away during an attempted arrest.
On July 3rd at 11:19 p.m., police say officers responded to a convenience store near 120th street and Coastal Highway for a reported theft. Officers stopped a possible male suspect, who they say resisted arrest. In the scuffle, police say an officer was injured.
The suspect, described as a white male, about 5’10” to 6’00” tall, average build and brown hair, was last seen heading northbound on Coastal Highway on foot. He was wearing a gray short-sleeve shirt with a University of South Carolina Gamecocks emblem and the lettering “Football” underneath the emblem, light-colored shorts, and carrying a black backpack.
