Salisbury Fire Department’s Captain Bryan Lewis is honored with new street sign unveiling
SALISBURY, Md. — A fallen Salisbury firefighter, Capt. Bryan Lewis was honored Wednesday.
He served in the department from 2006 to 2024 and died last year from cancer.
Family members gathered to unveil a street sign in his honor at the corner of Naylor and Brown Street.
The location is directly across from the fire station. His wife, Shelby Lewis, is thankful for the memorial.
“Bryan was a man of strength and resilience, and I hope that when people pass this sign, they think about him,” she said. “He truly will continue his legacy here in Station 2.”
Chief Rob Frampton, a coworker, said the memorial will help ensure Lewis’s legacy endures.
“The guys and gals that come in and out of here every day — coming to work and coming back from calls — are going to see Bryan’s name and have that constant reminder that he is riding with them every day,” he said.
Lewis was remembered as someone who created a lasting impact on everyone at the station.
