Wicomico County prepares for another round of winter weather
WICOMICO CO., Md. – Wicomico County is getting ready for another round of winter weather this evening.
Another 1 to 3 inches of snow is expecting to blanket the region tonight and cooler temperatures could cause some of that precipitation to refreeze.
As a result, Wicomico County Executive Julie Giordano said crews are expected to stay on top of the winter weather, applying salt and other treatment to make sure citizens are safe.
“We will follow what the governor says. If he calls for another state of emergency, the day will be sort of similar to this where county services, the building will be shut down, our ferries will be closed, the landfill will be closed and then our convenient centers will be closed, but we will not be closed after that, so we would have to be open because they can’t be closed for any longer than that,” said Giordano.
Giordano says if a plow has not touched your roads by Monday night, reach out to the public works department and let them know.
You can call the county roads department at 410-548-4872.
