Milford man arrested for violating a protection from abuse order

Milford Police say that a man was arrested for violation of a protection from abuse order.
Officers say that on Tuesday, they responded to an apartment in the Milford Crossing Department for a violation of a protective from abuse order. Units contacted the victim who advised that they currently have an active PFA against 33-year-old Michael Hester.
The victim said that Hester allegedly went to the apartment on Tuesday, began banging on the door several times and yelling at the victim through the door.
The victim said that they looked out and saw that it was Hester outside of the home. Patrol units confirmed that the PFA was in place, and had been served to Hester before obtaining a warrant for Hester for this incident.
On Thursday, officers responded to Walmart due to the victim calling advising that Hester had allegedly violated the order again. The victim alleged that Hester responded to their work place and approached them several times trying to talk. Patrol officers checked video surveillance footage and saw Hester making contact with the victim multiple times inside the store.
Officers located Hester in a nearby parking lot and took him into custody. He was charged with two counts of criminal contempt of a domestic protective order, one count of harassment and one count of third degree criminal trespass. He was arraigned through Justice of the Peace Court two.
Then, he was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $3,001 cash bail. He was also ordered to have no contact with the victim. He was given a future preliminary hearing date in Kent County Court of Common Pleas.
