Two Killed in Fiery Milford Crash; DSP Investigating
MILFORD, Del. – The Delaware State Police are investigating a car crash that killed two and left another critically injured on Friday night in Milford.
On Jun. 26 at 9:15 p.m., authorities say a Ford Mustang was traveling westbound on Milford Harrington Highway at a high rate of speed. At the same time, a Nissan Rogue had just turned right off of Church Hill Road onto the same highway. For reasons currently being investigated, the front of the Ford collided into the rear of the Nissan. As a result of the impact, the Nissan rotated, overturned into a utility pole, and became engulfed in fire.
The driver and passenger of the Nissan were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say they have not been identified at this time.
The driver of the Ford, a 36-year-old man from Harrington, was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The roadway was closed(Opens in a new window.) for approximately four hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.
