State funding to help small businesses expand internationally

 

SALISBURY, Md. – Governor Wes Moore’s administration has $750,000 to support small businesses.

It’s a part of the funding from the U.S. Small Business Administration. The funding is set out to help companies create jobs and expand access into foreign markets.

Arcon Training Center is a recipient of the funding here on the shore says this money allowed them to expand helping other businesses internationally. “Since we’ve established ourselves as experts in the US. markets for offshore wind training we decided to start a consulting business that helps other businesses get their training programs up and running as well,” said Benjamin Etheton with Arcon Training Center.

More funding for small businesses is set to come. The next application deadline for the ExportMD program is November first.
