What’s up Delmarva!
I’m Deja Parker, a producer turned reporter here at 47 ABC. I grew up in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. In middle school, I remember doing the morning announcements, but it was at Cheltenham High School, that I found my passion for storytelling.
I started at 47 ABC in August 2021 as a producer, fresh out of Temple University (Go Owls!). It was there where I studied Media Studies and Production with a minor in Africology and African American Studies. At Temple University, I hosted North Philly Now, which was a show that focused on Philadelphia issues, life in the community, and Black-owned businesses. I also had the opportunity to intern for Glass Entertainment Group, WHYY, and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. I love to cover prison reform and personal impact stories. When I’m not working, I like to play with my dog, Diesel, explore new places, read, blog, do community service and go to church. Most of all, I love to cook and visit my line sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in Philadelphia.
I am so glad to be a reporter here on Delmarva. Using my voice, I plan to share your stories, I look forward to connecting with you!
