Washington Bests Pocomoke 60-48

The Washington Jaguars beat the Pocomoke Warriors 60-48 at home this evening, improving to 5-1.

In a physical, fast-paced matchup between two rivals, the Jaguars led 12-9 at the end of the first quarter. Rashan Fitzgerald had eight first half points for the Jaguars, finishing the night with 12. Tyler Poulson chipped in six in the first half, with eight on the night. Washington held the 27-26 lead going into the half. Tyronne Mathews had three triples, tallying 16 for the game. Mathews also lobbed the ball to Kwamaine Atkins who came down with the one-hand-slam for an alley-oop in the fourth quarter. Dorian Stevens had a behind-the-back, no-look pass to Ryan Waters for a lay-in.

Both teams return to action in this year's Governors Challenge, held December 27th thru the 30th at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center.
