SACC New Teacher Bag Program a Success
SALISBURY, Md. – Tonight’s Good News is brought to you in part by Matt the Carpet Guy, coming out of Wicomico County schools.
The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce (SACC) partnered with local businesses to support the 2026 New Teacher Bags Program — and it was a huge success! This annual Chamber tradition reflects the organization’s commitment to supporting education and strengthening community partnership.
A number of organizations joined together to provide bags filled local discounts, restaurant certificates, and school supplies to new teachers in Wicomico public and private schools. Two-hundred welcome bags were assembled this summer and distributed to newly hired teachers before the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
“The Welcome New Teacher Bags Program is a wonderful example of what makes our business community so special,” said Bill Chambers, President/CEO of SACC. “Our members understand the important role educators play in shaping the future workforce of our region, and they consistently step forward to ensure these teachers receive a warm Delmarva welcome.”
