Welcome New Teachers Bag Is In Need Of Donations

SALISBURY, Md. — The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce is collecting donations for its New Teacher Bag program.

Chamber CEO and President Bill Chambers said the bags include coupons, pens and other items from local businesses. The program is designed to recognize and welcome new teachers to the area. Local businesses can contribute items over the next few months, such as branded promotional products, gift cards and coupons. The chamber also is accepting monetary donations of $100 to $150 to purchase additional items for students.

“Every year, businesses contribute a number of items to make new teachers feel welcome and help them get acclimated to the area and region, especially those who have moved long distances to teach in Wicomico County,” Chambers said.

The deadline for donations is Monday, Aug. 3. Donations of 200 items can be delivered to the chamber office Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
