All in the name of innovation and collaboration: The Mill Seaford

SEAFORD, Del. – A promising project in the city of Seaford, finally cutting the ribbon and making things official. The milestone on how this extra space could change the city for the better.

The purpose is about bringing together healthy connections, bringing together networking spaces, and also bringing about innovation.

Seaford Mayor Matt MacCoy, “It worked in the city of Wilmington, and now I’m privileged to say it will work in the city of Seaford.”

The Mill Seaford has officially arrived, transforming an old grocery store into a 20,000 square foot center for development. Owner Robert Herrera explains what the Mill means for the city.

“I think of it as a coral reef for innovation, a lot of vibrancy and activity. And we have membership tiers that start at $65 a month, which includes access to the space, similar to a gym membership.”

That membership status can be enhanced to desk spaces for $250 a month, offices for $500 a month, and everything in between. Herrera believes their mission ‘Change The Way You Work’ is key.

The Mill could foster positive change by serving as an internet access hub, especially with the growth of telecommunication. Herrera tells WMDT that bringing that change to the local community is pivotal for success.

“Seaford was a booming place with incredibly innovative products of nylon that came out of this town. I’d love to see a resurgence of some of that innovation. I’d love to see some manufacturing jobs come back to the United States and land in Seaford.”

Mayor MacCoy is excited about what this could mean for Seaford in the next 5 to 10 years.

“What I’m hoping is, businesses that start here today will grow into their own locations and bigger establishments in the city of Seaford tomorrow.”

Tidal Health and similar groups are offering programming to Mill family offices and orthopedic services. At the Mills Campus, Delaware Tech is inaugurating a vast 35,000 square foot building that includes a welding lab.
