Homicide investigation in Salisbury

Maryland State Police are searching for suspects in connection with the overnight murder of a  Salisbury man.

Authorities say they responded to the home of James Skinner, 20, on the 1100-block of Bryn Mawr Avenue around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

When officers from the Salisbury Police Department arrived, they reportedly found the victim with blood on him, lying in the entrance to the home.  He was transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The cause and manner of death has not yet been determined. Police say his body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy.

The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit was requested to respond and conduct the investigation.  Homicide Unit investigators are being assisted by detectives and uniformed officers from the Salisbury Police Department, as well as State Police crime scene technicians and investigators from the Gang Enforcement Unit.

According to Salisbury Police Chief Barbara Duncan, the reason the Gang Task Force is involved is because nothing is being ruled out at this time.

Investigators believe it is possible several suspects are involved, but no descriptions are currently available.

Chief Duncan says no arrests have been made yet and there is currently no concern for the public. We’re told the victim appears to have been targeted.
