Salisbury Dedicates Street In Honor Of Postal Worker
SALISBURY, MD- Salisbury community members and Officials came together today to honor the life and legacy of a very loved figure in the community.
Louis M. Jones, a long-time clerk at the Salisbury post office is being honored with a street in his honor.
Grace St, right across the street from the post office where he once worked was formally renamed to Louis M. Jones way through a proclamation that Salisbury Mayor Jake Day and Speaker Pro Tempore Sheree Sample- presented to Jones’s widow to honor his 32 years of service.
His Widow, Brenda Hughey-Jones told 47ABC the street name will serve as a reminder for everyone who drives on the street of the incredible work ethic and kindness of her husband.
” He was a wonderful person and what he exemplified was not only was he about going to work and doing his job-he did amazing customer service when they come by this place they will remember what is the Louis M Jones way; the right way,” she said.
She said she is proud to have had a husband who lived a life deserving of such a celebration.
While she says she wishes she could have had him for longer; that it’s not about how long someone is here;
but instead, it’s all about the good, and the love that they spread with the time they do have.
