EASTON, Md. – Multiple people were injured in a large crash involving a tractor trailer and seven passenger cars on Wednesday night.

At 10:41 p.m. on Jun. 24, dispatchers alerted the Easton Volunteer Fire Department and Talbot County Paramedics to a motor crash at Dover Road and Ocean Gateway. Due to the number of vehicles involved, the call was upgraded.

Authorities say the tractor-trailer was found to be leaking diesel fuel, with a large amount on the roadway and a large debris field spread across multiple vehicles. The Rescue Fire Company of Cambridge was also alerted to respond with their spill trailer to help secure the remaining diesel in the tractor-trailer’s fuel tank.

An unspecified number of patients were transported to the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton.
