Harriett’s House hosting first annual virtual fundraiser to benefit their drop-in center November 7

CAMBRIDGE, Md.- Harriett’s House, a drop-in center that helps victims of human trafficking, planned to have their first annual “Freedom Brunch” fundraiser in person this year, but COVID-19 made them shift gears and they had to make that event virtual.

Harriett’s House said this new fundraiser will happen on Nov. 7.

The virtual event will host different speakers talking about human trafficking and how it impacts us on the Eastern Shore.

During the fundraiser, there will be a place where people can donate online.

The funds raised will help the drop-in center expand their wok to reach more people and grow the resources they already offer.

“Everything that we do comes in the form of donations so to fund our programs to fund our drop in center to fund the residential program that we want to get started we have to have funding 51 so it is our opportunity to reach out to the community,” Julie Crain, the executive director, said.

The event will begin at 10:45 a.m.

We are told participants will get a gift for signing up for the event.

They can register for the Freedom Brunch at https://www.eventbrite.com/o/harrietts-house-30906105869.
