One Injured in Crisfield Garage Fire
CRSIFIELD, Md. – The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal has determined a garage fire in Crisfield to be accidental.
Just after 9:00 a.m. on Friday, crews with the Crisfield Volunteer Fire Department responded to a detached, brick garage in the 2900 block of Byrdtown Road. The fire was reported by an occupant in the garage after a welding operation went wrong.
A total of 19 firefighters battled the blaze for one hour before bringing it under control. The total damage to the structure and its contents is estimated to be valued at $140,000.
One adult male was transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment due to a burn injury.
