176 new COVID-19 cases, 12 new deaths announced in Delaware

SMYRNA, Del. – The Delaware Division of Public Health says an additional 12 people have died from complications of COVID-19 in the state.
Five of the most recent deaths were New Castle County residents, four were from Kent County, two were from Sussex County, and one individual’s county of residence is unknown at this time. We’re told the most recent deaths ranged in age from 66 to 80, and all 12 had underlying health conditions.
In addition, officials announced an additional 176 cases, bringing the state’s total to 6,741. 3,205 of those cases are in Sussex County, 1,060 are in Kent, and 2,440 are in New Castle. At this time, 276 individuals are hospitalized, 63 of whom are critically ill.
2,802 Delawareans have made a full recovery from the virus.
