OCEAN CITY, Md. – The Maryland Department of Natural Resources Fisheries is asking coastal boaters to mind their wake as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers continue dredging operations in Ocean City.

Officials say the Army Corps vessel Murden is expected to conduct dredging operations in the area, starting around Friday, Jul. 17. Operations are expected to last approximately 15 days and conclude at the end of the month before the White Marlin Open. The maintenance dredging will focus on the typical priority area in the federal channel, and the bypass dredging will take material from the borrow area; both will be placed at the near shore placement site along Assateague.

Authorities ask nearby boaters be mindful of their wake while traveling near the work site. Interested mariners may contact the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dredge via marine band radio VHF-FM channels 13 and 16.
