Wicomico Sheriff’s Office Investigating Salisbury Home Invasion

SALISBURY, Md. – The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) is investigating a home invasion that occurred in the early morning hours of Monday morning.

At a residence in the 1000 block of Beaglin Park Drive, a female resident was awoken by an unknown male standing at the foot of her bed. The suspect was described as an African American male,
approximately 6’2″ to 6’3″ tall, wearing black sweatpants, a black hooded sweatshirt, a blue surgical mask, and having lock-style hair.

Upon being confronted, the woman reported the suspect immediately fled, and exited the residence through a first-floor sliding glass door. Authorities say there were no signs of forced entry, and believe the suspect may have entered through the same sliding door, which may have been left unlocked.

The woman’s purse was later located outside near the sliding glass door. At the time of the report, it was unknown whether any property had been taken.

Deputies have since processed the sliding glass door and the purse for potential DNA. A canvass of the surrounding neighborhood was conducted, but no additional investigative leads were developed at the time of the incident.

WCSO reminds residents to ensure all doors and windows are secured before retiring for the evening, and to promptly report any suspicious activity in their neighborhood. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact deputies at 410-548-4891, or submit anonymous tips through Crime Solvers.
