Shooting Investigation

SALISBURY, Md. – Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown announcing Wednesday his decision to not seek charges in the November 2nd fatal police-involved shooting in Salisbury.

The Attorney General’s Independent Investigations Division concluded its investigation on March 11 and determined that the officers did not commit a crime under Maryland law.

Around 7 p.m. on November 2, 2025, officers were attempting to locate 40-year-old David Evans, a suspect in a homicide that happened earlier in the day.

They found him in the driveway of a residence in the 700 block of Jefferson Street.

Evans placed a handgun on the hood of a pickup truck.

Officers gave repeated commands for Evans to keep his hands-raised and move away from the truck.

When Evans did not comply, he grabbed the handgun and officers shot Evans.
