Local entrepreneurs grow custom embroidery and print business
FREDERICA, Del. – Alberto Alvarez started with custom embroidery in 2019 just as a hobby to express his personal style.
As his pieces drew the attention of friends, family, and coworkers, Alvarez started fielding requests saving up money to upgrade his equipment and start Yoker Custom as a full-blown business out of his own home.
Alvarez teamed up with his long-time friend Daniel Guzman, owner of the local specialty store Shop With Popadop, and the duo has grown their operation, taking on custom embroidery and print orders from athletic programs, businesses, and families and individuals.
Both Alvarez and Guzman take pride in their Puerto Rican heritage, so when Puerto Rico-native Bad Bunny was announced as the super bowl halftime performer, it was a no-brainer to put out unique merch that blended everything together: their flag, the performer, and the biggest show in America.
