SCS boy’s soccer cruises to ESIAC championship berth over Salisbury School Dragons

SALISBURY, Md. – Salisbury Christian School boy’s soccer beat The Salisbury School 5-0 Wednesday evening in Salisbury in the ESIAC semifinals, punching their ticket to the conference title game.

The Salisbury Christian Jags bested Salisbury School twice during the regular season, but the visiting Dragons kept the match knotted at zero deep into the first half.

It wasn’t until the 35th minute of the first frame that Salisbury Christian broke through, with Lucas Jacob finding the back of the net on a low drive from outside the box. Then, with under two minutes to play before the break, Nate Jones took a pass from Jacob and lofted it over the head of the Dragons’ keeper to make it 2-0 at halftime.

The Jags added three more tallies in the final 40 minutes, cruising to an ESIAC semifinal victory that extended their unbeaten season and advanced their overall record to 17-0.

One year after completing an undefeated season of their own–then graduating nine seniors from the team–the defending ESIAC champion Salisbury School Dragons found themselves eliminated from the conference tournament short of another title game appearance.
