Reflections on Home exhibit opens at Museum of Eastern Shore Culture on Jan. 17

SALISBURY, Md. – Starting Friday, visitors to the Museum of Eastern Shore Culture will get an up-close look at works by a well-known local artist.

Friday, Jan. 17, Patrick Henry’s Reflections on Home exhibit will open at the museum. Henry was born and raised just west of Ocean City and finds inspiration in the natural landscape of the Delmarva Peninsula.

“He’s been a celebrated artist in this area for a long time, and he specializes in landscapes and ocean scenes,” said Raye-Valion Gillette, the museum’s curator and folk life specialist.

Reflections on Home will highlight Henry’s most recent painting series, which seeks to capture the nostalgia and essence of life on Delmarva.

“I’m excited to see it all on display and have people contemplating a whole new style that he’s doing… Any chance we get to highlight our love for the Shore, the beauty of the Shore, that’s exactly what we aim to do,” said Alexandra Kean, museum operations coordinator.

The museum will host a grand opening for the exhibit from 5 to 7 p.m. on Jan. 17. On Jan. 22, Henry will visit the museum to give an artist’s talk. Henry’s exhibit will be open to the public until April 11th. Museum admission is free. The museum is located at 218 West Main Street, Salisbury, Md. 21801.
