Law enforcement ask community for help in murder of Salisbury 10-year-old; increase reward

Tyron Colbert

SALISBURY, Md. – Law enforcement agencies are asking for the community’s help in tracking down those responsible for the death of a 10-year-old boy this week.

“A ten-year-old boy, Tyron Colbert, was unfortunately taken from us and killed in that incident,” says Salisbury Police Chief David Meienschein.

On August 5th, shots were fired into a home on the 200 block of Clay Street. Officials say it happened around 10:35PM. Salisbury Police, Maryland State Police and Wicomico County’s States Attorney shared a video plea to the community Saturday on social media asking for information in the case.

“Law enforcement needs your help to do justice in this case,” says States Attorney Jamie Dykes. “Your information is necessary. That is why the reward amount has been increased to $25,000.”

Anyone with information can call the MSP tip line at 410-453-8983, the Salisbury Police Department at 410-548-3165 or Crime Solvers at 410-548-1776.

“You can remain anonymous. We can take any kind of tips, a lead, even if it’s something small, please reach out and help; help the community, help the Police Department, help Maryland State Police, help Salisbury City and more importantly help Mr. Colbert’s family as they’re going through this tough time,” says MSP Lt. Kyle Clark.

A GoFundMe page has been launched to collect donations for a memorial for the East Salisbury Elementary School Student.
