Rehoboth Beach Patrol facility demolition begins
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – Demolition to an old Rehoboth Beach Patrol facility started Monday. The building has been around since 1987. It’s demolition will pave the way for a new building for Beach Patrol and emergency medical providers.
Rehoboth Beach Patrol Captain Jeff Giles says the facility will have major upgrades to the private restrooms, public restrooms and changing areas. There also will be locker rooms for the life guards, which was not available in the previous building.
“We are going to have a small facility, a construction trailer up between the Henlopen and Virginia Avenue,” said Captain Giles. “Also, we will have an emergency medical response team operate out of the information booth.”
Construction will continue through the summer, and officials hope the new facility will be finished by May of 2025.
