Police: Man arrested in connection with Easton robbery

Police say that a man has been arrested in connection with a robbery that happened at a Wawa in Easton on Wednesday.
According to Easton Police, on Wednesday, detectives arrested 27-year-old Jacob Brach of Easton and charged him with robbery, second degree assault, theft: less than $1,000, and fourth degree burglary. Brach was taken before a Talbot County District Court Commissioner where he was held on a $5,000 bond.
On Wednesday around 4 AM, police say they responded to Wawa on Ocean Gateway for a robbery. Officers later learned that a suspect went into the store wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. The suspect's hood was up and the draw strings pulled tight, to try and cover his face.
After walking around the store for a few minutes, the suspect reportedly approached the clerk, and purchased a pack of cigarettes. After buying the cigarettes, police say, the suspect demanded the register to be opened and money handed to him. During this time, the suspect reportedly had his hand under his sweatshirt implying that he had a weapon.
The suspect later fled on foot with an unknown amount of money. Once detectives arrived at Wawa, they asked for the help of Maryland State Police Aviation Unit and St. Michael's Police Department K-9 unit to try and find the suspect. The attempt was unsuccessful. Later in the day, detectives asked for the help of Maryland State Police K-9 unit (bloodhound) to try and find evidence.
Further investigation led to identifying Brach as a possible suspect. Around 3 PM on Wednesday, detectives detained Brach and took him to the Easton Police Department. Once he was detained, evidence was recovered that connected him to the robbery.
