Gregory Ligon, Mitchellville, Md

A man charged with injuring seven people in a 2015 DSU homecoming crash has been convicted.

According to Delaware Department of Justice officials, Gregory Ligon of Maryland, has been found guilty of first degree vehicular assault, four counts of second degree vehicular assault, and one count of driving under the influence.

Ligon faces up to eight years in prison.

Ligon was indicted in January on charges of vehicular assault and drunken driving, after during DSU's homecoming, he apparently got out of his car in the Delaware State University fraternity picnic area , while it was still in reverse on October 24, 2015 around 7:30 PM.

He then got back into the car, but hit the gas instead of the break, accelerating over a curb in into a grassy area full of people. Seven people were hurt, one of whom was pinned between a tree and the car. Bystanders pulled Ligon from the car after it hit a second tree, causing it to stop.
