Sussex Tech New Anatomage Table

GEORGETOWN, Del.– The anatomage table is a state-of-the-art piece of technology that offers digitized human and animal cadavers giving students realistic 3D anatomy experiences.

Health science teacher Carolyn Maull says this table will help take her teaching to the next level.

“The table is fantastic because it allows my students to go and see, actually six cadavers that have been digitized into kind of a 3-D anatomical view,” Maull said.

Students tell WMDT they like the new tech because it allows them to go deeper into the body, starting from the skin and going all the way down into each bodily structure.

“I found it really cool because it can show each layer so like the skin, bones, muscles, veins,” junior health science student Braidyn Hoffman said.

In addition health science student Ty’Asia Murray says what stood out to her about the new machine is how deep they can explore the human body with it.

“Well the first thing that stood out to me is how deep into the different parts of the body systems you can go,” Murray said. “Just like being able to really explore it is really cool.”

For eleventh grader Ava Idoni-Thompson the table isn’t just a source of learning– but also a priviliege that will equip her and her classmates in their future careers.

“Well from my understanding a lot of high schools don’t have this equipment that we do and we get a deeper understanding as well as getting to look at so many things,” Idoni-Thompson said.

The anatomage table doesn’t just let students explore the human body but animal bodies as well.

“There’s over fifty different types of animals which a lot of my classmates actually want to work in the pet field, so I think it’s very helpful for us to learn more about everything,” Idoni-Thompson said.

With this new technology Sussex Tech is giving their students a chance to look closer at the human body bringing their classes to life in a whole new way.
