Delaware OHS Urges Safety Amid String of Motorcycle Crashes

(DOVER, Del) – The Delaware Office of Highway Safety is urging drivers to stay alert on the road, especially for the safety of motorcyclists.

This comes after OHS reports three separate crashes across Delaware over a 24 hour period, leaving one person dead, and two others injured.

The Office of Highway Safety is encourgaing people to remain vigilant on the road to minimize crashes.

“Motorcycles aren’t as clearly seen on our roadways as, a motor or a vehicle, whether that’s a car, truck, semi-truck. So, you know, looking twice for motorcycles, from a driver, checking your blind spot in your mirrors…” says OHS Community Relations Officer, Caitlin Reed.

According to the Delaware Office of Highway Safety, motorcycle crashes account for 15 percent of Delaware’s traffic related deaths in 2026.
