City of Salisbury Announces ADA Ramp Improvement Project

SALISBURY, Md. – The City of Salisbury has announced the beginning of a new American with Disabilities Act (ADA) Ramp Improvement Project funded through the Community Development Block Grant program to improve sidewalk accessibility in neighborhoods city-wide.

City officials say the project will focus on installing and updating ADA ramps in the neighborhoods of Church Street, Doverdale and beyond, helping create safer and easier access for residents navigating sidewalks daily.

“This project is another step toward improving accessibility and connectivity throughout our neighborhoods,” said Mayor Randy Taylor. “By upgrading ADA ramps, we are helping create more accessible sidewalks for residents and visitors while continuing to invest in infrastructure that benefits the entire community.”

The work is part of Salisbury’s ongoing efforts to modernize infrastructure, improve neighborhood connectivity and create public spaces that are safer and more welcoming for residents and visitors alike.

Michele Gregory of the Salisbury City Council says “We are working to expand ADA access around the city. This has been an issue for years. Hopefully we can reach folks in parts of the community that we can make more accessible.”

Construction is expected to begin in the coming weeks. Officials say temporary sidewalk interruptions may occur during work hours as crews complete the improvements.
