Maryland State Police investigating fatal pedestrian crash in Quantico

QUANTICO, Md. – Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that happened early Sunday morning. Troopers from the Salisbury barrack say they received a 911 call for an accident involving a pedestrian just before 1 a.m. When police arrived, they found a woman in the roadway in the area of Whitehaven Road and Senkbeil Road.

Investigators say 30-year-old Zora Vetra was involved in an argument when she was standing in the road. Police say a Ford passenger vehicle hit Vetra, and she was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical services. Investigators say alcohol was not a factor in the incident. The accident remains under investigation.
