Blood Bank of Delmarva holds tote bag giveaway and $250 gift-card raffle

NEWARK, De. – A local blood bank is giving those generous enough to donate, a chance to win some prizes.

All donors at the Blood Bank of Delmarva will receive a free tote bag and a chance to win one of four $250 gift cards to local grocery stores until Oct. 31st.

Tony Prado is the communication specialist for the Blood Bank of Delmarva, and explained they hope the raffle will incentivize people to donate amid a national blood shortage declared by the American Red Cross in July.

“Blood donors are in elite company, I should say.” Said Prado. “They are only 3% of the U.S. population, and it’s just not something that’s at the forefront of a lot of people’s minds. And so something like the grocery gift card giveaway from October 18 through October 31st is a way to get people’s attention.”

The blood bank says it’s just another reason to role up your sleeve.
