BREAKING: Body of 6-year-old recovered in Del. canal crash

MIDDLETOWN, Del. – Delaware State Police and the Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police confirmed on Thursday that the body of 6-year-old Ethan Lindsey has been recovered in Middletown.

According to police, just before 9 a.m. a 911 call was received, stating that a body was seen in the water on the north bank of the C&D canal, approximately .25 miles west of the William V. Roth Bridge. Officers responded and located the body of a child, who has been identified as Ethan Lindsey.

Ethan was one of five occupants in a Chevy HRR that crashed into the C&D canal on Sunday morning. Three other occupants in the vehicle, 18-year-old Willis Lindsey Jr., 16-year-old Kyree Lindsey, and 12-year-old Eric Lindsey also died as a result of the crash and were recovered on the day of the crash. The fifth occupant, a 16-year-old female, survived the crash.
